What are NovoAbrasive grinding discs?

NovoAbrasive grinding discs are thick abrasive discs (6.0–8.0 mm) for rough grinding, weld removal and surface preparation. Made of aluminum oxide and zirconium oxide, reinforced with multiple layers of glass mesh for maximum strength.

Diameters from 115 to 230 mm, depressed profile type 27 (T27). Certified by MPA Hannover, complies with EN 12413. Suitable for steel, stainless steel and cast iron.

How is a grinding disc different from a cutting disc?

The grinding (deburring) disc has a thickness of 6-8 mm versus 1-3 mm for the cutting disc. It is designed to work with the side surface at an angle of 15-30 degrees to the workpiece, while the cutting disc works with the end face.

At what angle should the grinding disc be held?

The optimal angle of inclination of the grinding disc to the surface is 15-30 degrees. Too small an angle reduces efficiency, and too large leads to rapid wear and overheating.

What is the difference between the EXTREME, PROFI and STANDARD series?

EXTREME — industrial series for heavy-duty grinding work and maximum metal removal. PROFI — professional series with the optimal price/performance ratio. STANDARD — economical series for household use and infrequent work.

Can I cut with a grinding disc?

Absolutely not! Grinding discs are intended exclusively for finishing and grinding work. For cutting, use thin cutting discs (Type 41/42) of the appropriate diameter.

What does 6 mm and 8 mm thickness mean?

6 mm thick discs are standard grinding discs for most jobs. 8 mm discs have an increased service life and are designed for intensive grinding of large areas or when working on stationary installations.

What is the maximum rotation speed?

The maximum peripheral speed for NovoAbrasive grinding discs is 80 m/s. For a disc with a diameter of 125 mm, this corresponds to 12,200 rpm. Never exceed the maximum speed indicated on the disc.

How long do grinding discs last?

The shelf life of grinding discs is 3 years from the date of manufacture. Store in a dry room, horizontally, on a flat surface, without additional load from above.

What does the Type 27 marking on the disc mean?

Type 27 (or type 27) means a concave center of the disc. This shape allows you to work with the side surface of the disc, providing an optimal contact angle with the workpiece and protecting the spindle from damage.
