Which circle to choose: Standard, Profi or Extreme?

We analyze the differences in grain composition, show the results of laboratory tests, and compare with European brands — all based on real numbers.

Cutting wheel NovoAbrasive Standard 125x1.0 Standard
Cutting wheel NovoAbrasive Profi 125x1.0 Profi
Cutting wheel NovoAbrasive Extreme 125x1.0 Extreme
Standard series (90–92% Al₂O₃) — for household work and small volumes. Profi (95–96% Al₂O₃, ceramic coating) — the best price/resource balance: twice as many cuts for +9% to the price. Extreme (97–98% Al₂O₃, ceramic corundum) — an industrial series with a self-sharpening effect: three times as many cuts and the lowest cost per cut. What's inside: from electrocorundum to ceramic corundum

The main difference between the series is the purity and type of abrasive grain. The higher the percentage of aluminum oxide (Al₂O₃), the harder, sharper and more durable the grain.

Standard — Household series

90–92% Al₂O₃— Ordinary purity electrocorundum

Classic abrasive grain for universal tasks. The optimal choice for small jobs and home use.

  • Low cost of the circle
  • Stable performance on most steels
  • Price/performance balance

Profi — Professional series

95–96% Al₂O₃— Ceramic coated

Grain of increased purity. Ceramic coating improves grain retention in the bundle and increases service life. Optimized bundle formula.

  • 5 times longer life
  • +30% to cutting speed
  • Less overheating of the material

Extreme — Industrial Series

97–98% Al₂O₃— White oxide + ceramic corundum

High-purity abrasive with ceramic structure. Self-sharpening effect maintains cutting ability throughout service life. Special bond with reinforcing additives.

  • 7 times longer life
  • +50% to cutting speed
  • Self-sharpening effect
  • Minimal overheating

Cost of one cut - which one is more profitable?

The main indicator of the economic efficiency of an abrasive wheel is not its price per piece, but the cost of one cut. The more cuts the wheel makes, the lower the cost of each.

Main conclusion

The more expensive wheel costs less per cut. Extreme costs 35% more than Standard, but the cost of each cut is 60% lower. And Profi, with a price difference of only 9%, gives twice as many cuts - the best price/resource balance in the line.

Simple example: 210 cuts need to be made

Standard: 210 ÷ 21 = 10 rounds × 23 UAH = 230 UAH, plus 9 round replacements.
Profi: 210 ÷ 42 = 5 circles × 25 UAH = 125 UAH, plus 4 circle replacements. Savings 105 UAH (46%).
Extreme: 210 ÷ 70 = 3 circles × 31 UAH = 93 UAH, plus 2 circle replacements. Savings 137 UAH (60%).

In addition to saving money, you spend less time changing wheels and make each cut faster: Profi by 11%, Extreme by 17%.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the Standard, Profi and Extreme series?

The main difference is the type and purity of the abrasive grain. Standard (90–92% Al₂O₃) — ordinary purity electrocorundum for household work. Profi (95–96% Al₂O₃) — with ceramic coating, twice the service life. Extreme (97–98% Al₂O₃) — ceramic corundum with a self-sharpening effect, three times the service life.

Which series is the most affordable?

Extreme has the lowest cost per cut — 0.44 UAH (retail) versus 1.10 UAH for Standard. Profi is the best balance: only +9% to the Standard price, but twice as many cuts and 46% lower cost per cut.

Are NovoAbrasive wheels suitable for stainless steel?

Yes. The Profi and Extreme series are marked INOX and are designed for stainless steel. They do not contain iron and sulfur (Fe+S+Cl < 0.1%), which preserves the anti-corrosion properties of the metal.

Where were the tests conducted?

On an automatic WE-TM-125mm (1000 W) machine without human intervention. Material - A500 reinforcement ⌀14 mm. International comparison was conducted with wheels of 19 brands purchased at the INTERNATIONAL HARDWARE FAIR ITALY exhibition in Milan.
