What are NovoAbrasive backing pads?

NovoAbrasive backing pads are auxiliary devices for attaching fiber and Velcro discs to angle grinders and orbital sanders. They ensure secure fixation and the correct pressure angle.

What is a backing pad?

A backing pad is an accessory for an angle grinder (angle grinder/grinder) to which Hook & Loop or fibre discs are attached. It ensures even pressure distribution and secure fixation of the abrasive.

What is the difference between a backing disc with and without an adapter?

The backing pad without adapter has a built-in M14 thread and screws directly onto the spindle of the angle grinder. The version with adapter comes with a removable adapter, which allows the pad to be used on different types of tools and provides more flexible mounting.

How to choose the diameter of the support disc?

The diameter of the backing pad should match the diameter of the grinding wheel you plan to use. For small angle grinders, 100-125 mm discs are suitable, for medium-sized ones, 125-150 mm. Make sure that the diameter of the disc does not exceed the maximum permissible for your tool.

Are NovoTools backing pads suitable for any grinder?

Why do you need a hand sanding block?

How long does a support disc last?

When used properly, a backing pad will last much longer than a grinding wheel. Typically, one backing pad will last through hundreds of grinding wheel replacements. It should be replaced when the Hook & Loop coating wears out or the rubber backing becomes deformed.

Can I use a backing pad for polishing?

Yes, Hook & Loop backing pads are great for polishing. They can be used with felt, fur or foam polishing pads for finishing metal, stone, paintwork and other surfaces.

What does the M14x2 marking mean?

M14x2 is a thread standard: M14 stands for a metric thread with a diameter of 14 mm, and the number 2 indicates a thread pitch of 2 mm. This is the generally accepted standard for angle grinder spindles in Europe and most countries around the world.
